Our goal is to bring music, skateboarding and fashion together. By fashion we mean a person's own personal style. That style can consist of merely a hat or bandana or an entire creation they create themselves. At times these creative styles have be described as rock, rage, goth, new wave, hip hop, old skool, grunge and something we call rock-rolla.
Like all dramatic stories, skateboarders need a soundtrack. That soundtrack is usually delivered by some of the hottest artist in the world, like N.E.R.D., The Neptunes, Blink 82, Lupe Fiasco, Nirvana, Jay Z, LMFAO and many more. We will find the connection to this skateboard culture, this world of Riders, people I sometimes referr to as Concrete Heros®.
We will also bring you thing hottest riders in the game. Pro-superstars and up and coming superstars. We want to know what make them all tick. We wil showcase those answers here at SKATETRONICS.com.
Skateboarding is the hottest youth sport in the country and is growing everyday. Even a big corporate giant like Disney has admitted as much by putting lots of attention and care into a new series for kids called ZEKE and LUTHER on Disney's new channel Disney XD. The show debuted to the largest youth audience recorded since television has been gathering such statistic.
As for the people in the sport, they take it very seriouly while also having fun. Statements like "we don't do this as just a hobby, this is a way of life" or "I sleep this, I eat this. This is my life. I'm a rider". These statements make it clear that this is a form of freedom that is expressed all over the U.S. and the world. From Europe to South America, Mexico to Canada. From the Inner-cit to the suburbs. Even on Wall Street (although they've made it illegal to roll there). It is growing in more and more regions every year. It's a form of self expression and part of that self expression is personal style.
