There are those who don't have a preference between digital and HD when it comes to shooting footage of skateboarder tricks and stunts. "Just as long as my footage comes out clear and captures what the eyes see when the action is being filmed is all I care about". But then there are those who are influenced by the buzz put out by the camera technology industry that tells the public they must get the hottest new equipment in the store, maybe you want to take time to research your camera choice before you buy something that cost too much or has more features than you need or doesn't have enough of the features you need.
